✨ Just Us Girls (and a Camera)
Last summer, Rhapsody and I took on five big adventures across the Southwest and beyond — and we documented every step on her YouTube channel, Bon Voyage Rhapsody.
What started as a way to capture her ballet journey turned into something so much more: a digital scrapbook of summer moments, mother-daughter memories, and the kind of travel that shapes who you’re becoming.
This trip wasn’t about big budgets or perfect plans — it was about quality time, personal growth, and leaning into every moment.
🎰 Stop 1: Las Vegas
We started with sparkle and neon — a quick trip to Las Vegas! Rhapsody explored themed hotels, iconic fountains, and even snuck in a little pool time. The city that never sleeps definitely kept us on our toes, and she loved every second of the shimmer.
🏰 Stop 2: Disneyland & Downtown Disney
Disneyland was next, and it was pure magic. We hunted down Stitch merch, rode all the rides our hearts desired, and wandered the hotels just for fun. (Tip: you can meet characters at the hotels — who knew?!)
From water slides to mocktails to pin trading, Rhapsody documented it all.

🛳️ Stop 3: Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas
A cruise with just the two of us? Yes, please. We climbed water slides, conquered the FlowRider, and explored Catalina and Ensenada — no excursions, just vibes and vitamin sea.
She loved the orange slide. I liked the blue one. We met somewhere in the middle… usually at the buffet.
🩰 Stop 4: Ballet Arizona Summer Intensive
After all the fun, it was time to focus — and wow, did Rhapsody rise to the occasion. She trained for weeks at Ballet Arizona, stretching herself physically and mentally while we both got a taste of what’s next in her dance journey.
I loved watching her balance joy and discipline — and capturing the behind-the-scenes moments of messy buns, stretching sessions, and snack breaks made it all even sweeter.
🏞️ Stop 5: Grand Canyon Views
On our way home, we took a detour to see the Grand Canyon. We walked to the edge, stood in awe, and let the wind tangle our hair as we remembered how small — and how lucky — we are.
🌟 Why We Made These Videos
We didn’t set out to become travel vloggers. We just wanted to capture the magic of movement — through cities, through stages, through growing up.
This summer taught us how to be flexible, how to recover from travel hiccups, and how to say “yes” more often. We discovered along our journey, that kids perspectives are surprisingly rare.
If you’ve followed along, thank you. If you haven’t yet — now’s the perfect time to subscribe and join the ride.
